Chung Ching Middle School won the first prize at the National Science Show
competition organized by the OGDC in November 2017, in the lower secondary
category. Ryan Chong and Choo Jia Le of Year 7 presented a series of very
interesting science experiments within a span of ten minutes, to bag the award.
Ryan Chong was adjudged to be the best performer of the competition. The
finalists were selected through preliminary competitions conducted in the four
districts of Brunei. Two schools were selected from each district, and these eight
teams competed for the prizes at the finals conducted on the 26 th of November
2017, at Teater Kuliah, The Core, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The winners were
presented with medals and B$ 600.00 cash prize. The best performer was
awarded a medal and B$ 100.00 also.
